It's not just me!

I'm a big fan of movies. An ideal afternoon for me is sitting in the dark with a bunch of strangers eating popcorn and watching a movie that I'll still be thinking about days later. I don't get to do it as often as I'd like, because my town has an Odeon that shows the blockbusters and not much else (and here in England, outside London, we're lucky to have that). About twice a year we have a "festival," where you can see some of the art-house stuff that everyone's been talking about and maybe a classic or two. For those I'm eternally grateful.

Still, when talking with other movie fans, I've always been slightly handicapped by the fact that I don't worship The Godfather. Nothing kills your credibility in the eyes of a Serious Film Lover faster than saying that Godfathers I and II aren't among your top ten favorite movies. A lot of my problem is Diane Keaton. Her whiny melodramatic performance ruined it for me. And my stubborn position on this matter has only been reinforced over the years by the fact that no SFL I've ever met would admit that there's anything wrong with the movie.

Until now. Ok, I haven't met David Schmader, but I read him a lot. This post is pretty much all I've been trying to say. Watch the clip.
