Women speak out at an anti-Palin rally in Anchorage:
And Andrew Sullivan and Naomi Klein make the point a little more forcefully here:
Sarah Palin may be a lovely person. But she clearly doesn't belong in the White House. I'll be frank: "average hockey mom" is not a selling point for me. W tried (and apparently succeeded) to sell us that "average Joe" line too, and look how well that worked out. I don't want an average, "just like you and me" president. I want someone who's educated, intelligent, thoughtful, and capable of some deep thinking about foreign policy, climate change, and healthcare. I want someone who can speak substantively and fluently and without reverting to boilerplate when asked a question. I want someone who doesn't see changing one's views in light of new information as a weakness. If that makes me an elitist, then I'll have to take the label.

Over the decades, we've had plenty of educated, intelligent, thoughtful, and deep thinking folks in Congress and other areas of government and look where it's left us in the USA today.
You must remember, Palin isn't running for President. Many vice-presidents are not presidential material. Take Al Gore for instance.
